I am pleased to announce that Razoo Realty has opened an office in Twinity.  Though still in the Beta stages, Twinity is beginning to lay the groundwork for a real estate market.  The current office can be located by Searching through the Toolbar at the bottom of your screen.  Once Alpha City Berlin is open to business Razoo Realty will relocate to its permanent location.

I said a month ago that I was looking for a new CEO to lead Linden Lab, and we’ve found one! His name is Mark Kingdon, and his Second Life name is “M Linden”.

As you might imagine in a new leader of Linden Lab, there are lots of great things I could say about him, but let me just pick a few and then encourage you to meet him in-world. He is a person with the rare and unusual combination of business leadership, creativity, and passion for Second Life that we were looking for. In terms of history, he has a background in art, economics, and business. He has been in successful and highly regarded leadership roles at two companies that are bigger than Linden Lab: PricewaterhouseCoopers and Organic. He is a well-loved people leader who is fearless and can weather challenges and change.

Entropia Universe, the online community with a real cash economy, has become the first virtual world to ever win an Emmy Award.

The International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences gave the International Interactive Emmy Award for Best Interactive TV Series to The Truth About Marika, a drama produced by Swedish Television and The Company P. Setting it apart from conventional television shows, viewers of The Truth About Marika could search for clues planted in Entropia Universe, piecing them together to help solve a mystery. Fans could also interact with avatars of the show’s main characters while in the game.

I got my beta invite earlier in the week and finally took the time to log in.  They have some really cool features.  Mirrors, inworld website interaction and the ability to generate your avatar look based on photos uploaded.  I got my place set up and did a bit of shopping for some casual wear.  Met a fellow SL’r my last trip in.

I have joined Kaneva.  The avatar creation process is limited and simple to use.  Orientation is very quick and easy.  Make sure you pick up your rewards ($) along the way.  You get a nicely furnished apartment overlooking Kaneva Central.

For those who are in SL – stop by Holt and see the new outpost I set up.  Space was limited so I had to be frugal.  But it was a lot of fun and gave me an excuse to run around in my sgc fatigues.

Stargate Worlds is a MMORPG set in the universe of the longest running science fiction television series in U.S. history, Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis.  Players will step through the Stargate to explore alien worlds, encounter ancient civilizations and battle relentless enemies.  Coming in the Fall 2008!

I just checked my There profile and my rezz day was January 31st.  Very cool!  I look forward to spending more time in There this year and getting to know the place better.

Today is my one year rezz day for Entropia.  Entropia is the most “game like” of all the virtual worlds that I have checked out or am participating in.  The learning curve has been the highest on this one as well, IMHO.  But I am glad that I have stayed with it.  The graphics are amazing and it scales really well.  Just wished it wasn’t so expensive!  {:o)

and didn’t even know it.  I decided this evening I was going to check out the virtual world There.  When I tried to sign up under Cherowolf it told me the name was already taken. I was a bit surprised – not that I am the only one in the world with this name – but considering that I made it up about 15 years ago I have only ran across it one other time being used by someone other than me (that’s a whole nother story).  I looked through all my emails and could not find any from There.  So I decided what the heck, I would just try signing in starting with past and present passwords that I have used.  Logged in on the first try!  Apparently I signed up with There a year ago and will be celebrating my one year rezz day later this week!  How cool is that?  Anyway, I went in and checked it out.  The avatar looks are fairly generic however the scaling is smooth and the hover boards are awesome!  I think it is worth spending some time There.
